Do the spheres have drainage holes?

Yes, they do! Each container comes with a perfectly designed drainage hole at the bottom to help keep your plant’s roots healthy and strong. With each sphere, you will also receive a small dripping tray to protect your furniture from water stains.

Can you create a custom sphere for me?

My sphere started having some white lines on it, what is it?

Just like on terracotta pots, It’s water lines from after watering!

Your new functional, handcrafted artwork, just like the plant grown inside, will evolve over the course of time.

The sphere will build a natural patina so it’s going to look even more awesome as it gets older, so you can curate your own piece of space!

How can I tell if my concrete sphere needs watering?

One of the easiest tricks to tell if your plant needs watering is to hide a toothpick or small wooden skewer in the soil. I tend to leave it there hidden somewhere out of sight. Then I simply pull the stick out when I am checking on the plant and if the stick looks to be wet, I know there is still adequate moisture. If the stick appears to be drying out, I know it is time to water it again. I also recommend getting a simple moisture meter as this will help take a lot of the guesswork out of watering.

How do I water my sphere planter?

I recommend taking the sphere to the sink so that water can freely drain. I tend to water mine fairly well, saturating the soil, and then leave it to drain until it has stopped dripping before replacing it on the tray. If you are a fan of the ‘dunk method’ of watering where you dunk the plant into a bucket (or sinkful) of water. This will work just as well, and for some plants even better since moisture will absorb into the concrete and help maintain moisture for longer.

We do not recommend watering your plant on the tray, as the tray is shallow and will not hold excess water.
