MY TOOLS IN YOUR BOX
Apron – Keeps my clothes clean(er) and has storage for the tools I am currently using.
Chopsticks and Short Dowls – These serve an almost endless number of purposes. From propping up weak stems and branches to checking soil moisture, and root cleaning.
Comb (Wide Toothed) – For combing out roots and removing old soil when repotting.
Dustpan and Wisk – For cleaning up small spills of dirt and debris.
Magnifying Glass – Great for identifying pests and smaller plant parts.
Moisture Meter – Helpful for determining the moisture of soil. Be careful they are prone to false readings.
Plant Tags – For remembering important plants and seedlings.
Poker- For creating small holes and detail cleanup work.
Pruning Shears – For pruning. I don’t think I need to waste your time explaining further.
Rake (Handheld, Wide Toothed) – For mixing and stirring reamended soil.
Scissors – For cutting window screen, trash bags, and prune jobs too small for pruning shears.
Spatula (Medal, Small) – Great for helping pry out stuck plants and dividing root systems.
Syringe – For precision watering of smaller plants and experimental plantings.
TDS Meter – Stands for Total Dissolved Solids. This meter is used to test water purity for carnivorous and other sensitive plants.
Tool Box – You need somewhere to keep your favorite tools
Towels (Absorbent) x2 – One for wet spills and one for dry. Or two for wet if it’s a big spill.
Trash Bag (Heavy Duty) x2 – Great for covering floors and counters when repotting as well as for tossing debris for composting or trash. Reuse.
Trowel – For filling larger pots and breaking up clumps of larger soil in my soil bins.
Tweezers (Long Handle) – For detailed cleaning work, holding small seeds, picking up delicate plants and so much more.
Window Screen – For covering large drainage holes.
Wire (Thin) – For attaching plants to climbing surfaces and support poles.
