The lotus plant can regulate its temperature, maintaining a constant temperature of around 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) even when the air temperature is much lower.
The world's oldest living plant is the bristlecone pine (Pinus Longaeva), found in the White Mountains of California, with some trees over 5,000 years old.
Poinsettias are native to Mexico and are named after Joel Poinsett, the first U.S. ambassador to Mexico, who introduced the plant to the United States in the 1820s.
